Wauneta-Palisade Wins Season Opener Over Maxwell

The Wauneta-Palisade Bronco Football Team kicked off the season on Friday night on the road to take on Maxwell Wildcats.  Wauneta-Palisade would get the win 16-7 in a game where no scoring happened in the second half.  

Wauneta-Palisade would have troubles hanging onto the football with several quarterback and center exchanges, fumbles, and even an interception thrown, but Wauneta-Palisade was able to make enough offensive plays in the first half and crank up the defensive pressure in the second half to win the game. 

Kreyton Wiese of Wauneta-Palisade led the running attack with 104 total yards and led receiving with 36 yards.

Next action for Wauenta-Palisade will be Friday hosting Sandhills Valley - Maxwell will travel to Cambridge on Friday in a game featured on 102.1 True Country.
