Wallace Football Survives at Home

Wallace, NE - Undefeated Medicine Valley Raiders traveled to Wallace Wildcats on Thursday night for some Six-Man High School Football with a district championship on the line and playoff seeding implications.

Wallace found themselves trailing down 22-0 midway through the second quarter before Wallace got on the scoreboard with 1:00 left in the second quarter.  Medicine Valley leading at the half 22-7. Wallace would get the football to start the 3rd quarter. Both teams in the 3rd quarter would exchange blows with the score 38-27 Medicine Valley leading heading into the 4th quarter.

Wallace would score first in the 4th quarter with 8:14 remaining in the game, but Medicine Valley would strike right back with 7:16 left to play.  Wallace would then score two more times in the 4th quarter with the tieing touchdown coming with just 26 seconds left to play.  The PAT would fail for Wallace sending the game to Overtime where Wallace would get the football first and score to take the lead for the first time.  Medicine Valley would get a chance to answer where the Raiders would throw the football into the endzone on 4th down, but a pass interferance call would keep the hope for Medicine Valley another chance at 4th down, but the Wallace defense holds to win the game 52-46 in OT.

Medicine Valley slips to 7-1 and Wallace improves to 7-1. Both teams will host first round playoff games on Friday, October 30th.
