Troopers Across The State Participate In International Roadcheck

May 20, 2026 (LINCOLN NEB.) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) Carrier Enforcement Division participated in International Roadcheck from Tuesday, May 12 through Thursday, May 14, across the state.

During this effort, troopers conducted 388 vehicle inspections. Troopers discovered 692 violations of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and state law. Troopers placed 56 vehicles out of service (not allowed to return to the road). Additionally, troopers placed 28 drivers out of service.

Vehicles are placed out of service for a variety of reasons relating to bad brakes or tires, or other problems that pose immediate safety risks. Troopers issued a total of 78 citations during the inspections.

During the inspections, troopers also issued a total of 66 CVSA decals. The decals indicate that the vehicle did not have any immediate safety issues.

The effort focuses on commercial vehicles that may not pass through weigh stations as part of their regular routes.

International Roadcheck is the largest targeted enforcement campaign for commercial motor vehicles in the world. This effort takes place over the course of three days. During that time, CVSA-certified inspectors conduct compliance checks on commercial motor vehicles and their drivers to prevent commercial motor vehicle crashes, injuries, and fatalities.
