Runs Hard To Come By In McCook MNB Seniors Win Versus Gothenburg Melons

Both teams were strong on the hill on Thursday, but McCook MNB Seniors defeated Gothenburg Melons 2-1. Trenton Raile started the game for McCook MNB Seniors and recorded 21 outs. The bottom of the lineup was strong for McCook MNB Seniors. Noah Mashek, Espn Hall, and Brody Graham combined for four of the team's six hits in their victory. They scored one run and drove in one. McCook MNB Seniors got on the board in the top of the second inning after Mashek singled, and McCook MNB Seniors scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run. Raile earned the win for McCook MNB Seniors. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. Ethan Olson took the loss for Gothenburg Melons. They went seven innings, surrendering two runs on six hits, striking out one and walking three. Mashek and Hall were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for McCook MNB Seniors. Mashek went 2-for-2 at the plate as they led the team with one run batted in. McCook MNB Seniors turned one double play in the game. Jackson Schwanz went 1-for-3 at the plate as the infielder led the team with one run batted in. Schwanz and Carson Farr each collected one hit for 2024 Gothenburg Melons. Gothenburg Melons turned two double plays in the game. Gothenburg Melons were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Landon Mroczek had the most chances in the field with eight. McCook MNB Seniors welcome Cambridge Arapahoe Sr. Legion on Saturday for their next game at 3pm.
