WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) discussed his work to drive down the cost of living for Nebraskans.  Ricketts highlighted his efforts to pass year-round E15.

“Biofuels are a win-win-win. They save consumers money at the pump, help clean up the environment, and are good for our farmers and ranchers,” said Ricketts. “If we pass E-15, that would allow for even more savings for Americans, put more money back in Americans’ pockets.”

Ricketts also celebrated Senate passage of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.  This legislation will make housing more affordable for Nebraskans.  It will increase housing stock, cut through burdensome red tape, and streamline building processes.

“That is the goal of what we are doing here with the 21st Century housing bill is to try and find more ways to create more housing stock,” said Ricketts. “We are working on making housing more affordable for Nebraskans.”

Ricketts’ comments were made in a Senate Banking Committee hearing: “The Affordability Agenda.” The witnesses were Lindsey Johnson, CEO, Consumer Bankers Association; Kevin Brown, President, National Association of Realtors; Cody Carbone, CEO, Digital Chamber; and Julie Margetta Morgan, President, The Century Foundation.
