Public Meeting FEB. 19 To Review Hospital Plans

Community Hospital

McCook, Neb. – Troy Bruntz, Community Hospital President & CEO has announced that the hospital will hold a public meeting at 5:30pm on Thursday, February 19 in the Prairie View Meeting Rooms at Community Hospital, 1301 East H Street, McCook, Nebraska.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide members of The Community Hospital Association, along with the general public, with information regarding the upcoming planning and construction of the Community Hospital Central Utility Plant, Community Hospital McCook Clinic, and Community Hospital Cancer Center.

Community Hospital’s multiphase campus plan begins with Phase One, which updates the existing central utility plant to modernize infrastructure and significantly increase capacity for current and future growth. Phase Two introduces a new threestory McCook Clinic on the west side of the campus, situated on the hill next to the current hospital’s inpatient wing, along with an adjacent parking lot to support patient and staff access. Phase Three will construct a new Cancer Center east of the current McCook Clinic and Radiation Oncology department, extending into the existing parking area. Once complete, the facility will house Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Outpatient Injection/Infusion services.

The hospital is planning for a spring start on the Central Utility Plant project, followed by a fall groundbreaking for construction of the McCook Clinic and the Cancer Center. All projects are expected to be completed between mid to late 2028.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for public information and comment, allowing community members to learn more about the project and its benefits to patient care and economic development in the region. Representatives from Community Hospital and their architectural firm will be available to discuss questions, comments, and concerns.
