McCook With Tough Game Against North Platte

McCook Bison couldn't keep up with North Platte and fell 11-3 on Tuesday.

North Platte got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Ziva Zamudio singled down the left field line, McCook committed an error, Aubrey Simmons grounded out, and Devaney Jones singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

An error, and a single by Kasidee Preece helped North Platte extend their early lead in the second.

North Platte added two runs in the third after McCook committed an error.

Leighton Anderson stepped in the circle first for McCook. The right-handed pitcher allowed 14 hits and 11 runs (four earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one. Tiffany Townsend stepped in the circle first for North Platte. The pitcher surrendered three hits and three runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking three.

Anderson drove the middle of the lineup, leading McCook with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day.

North Platte tallied 14 hits in the game. Preece drove the middle of the lineup, leading North Platte with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Abby Stiffler went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead North Platte in hits. Caslynn Kohl, Brylee Wilkerson, and Jones each collected multiple hits for North Platte.
