Comments from Head Coach Matt Wiemers:

A solid trip east over the weekend. We opened play Friday night with a sweep of Lincoln Christian. Playing the Friday night duel is a great momentum builder heading into Saturday. Saturday we had to sit through a 3 hour rain delay. Once play started at about Noon, we opened play with a duel against Omaha Brownell-Talbot-Concordia. The girls high level of play carried over from Friday and they eanred a 4-1 win. Round two we played Platteview, in which we started a bit slow. But I was pleased to see the girls correct things and battled at a much higher level, which helped us pick up a 4-1 duel win. The last round we dueld Lincoln Pius, in which the girls really played well. Pius has a tradition of being a tennis powerhouse, but the girls didn't get intemidated and earned a 5-0 sweep. Elizabeth and Cassidy went 4-0 at 1 doubles, as did Abi at 2 singles. Emma and Analia also earned a perfect 4 0 record at 3 doubles. Abby went 3-1 at 1 singles and Madi and Kenadi also went 3-1. The girls were rewarded for their efforts with a giant cookie, that went to the top team...a neat change from earning medals and the cookie was a welcomed snack for the journey home. Monday we take six of our junior varsity to North Platte for an invite then Tuesday the top 8 will travel to Lexington for the varsity invite. Thursday we return to our home courts for a couple of duels with Ogallala and Holdrge and we will honor our seniors following the duels.
