RIVERTON, Wyo. – Weather suspended Friday play at MCC’s golf tournament at the Riverton (Wyo.) Country Club hosted by Central Wyoming. The results reverted back to Thursday’s scores for the final and MCC finished third among six teams.
The Indians finished in third place among the six teams with a +22 which was 19 shots back of leader Eastern Wyoming and 11 ahead of both Northeastern Junior College and Otero and 13 ahead of the host team.
“Definitely a step back in the right direction this week,” said MCC Golf Coach Grant Case. “We just weren’t able to get enough birdies to offset some of the mistakes.”
Freshman Freddie Wilson (Basingstoke, England) takes a sixth-place finish with his six-over 75. Sophomore Louis Yin (Tainan, Taiwan) finished in a tie for 10th place with a nine-over 77.
Sophomore Jeb Kastens (Rawlins County High School) shot an 80 and Manus Crichton-Coote (freshman, Bexhill-On-Sea, England) had a 78, William Clayton (freshman, West Malling, England) carded a first-round 83 and sophomore Joackym Mahy (Andenne, Belgium) had an 84.
MCC will be home Thursday and Friday, Sept. 24-25 to host the MCC tournament at Heritage Hills Golf Course.
“We’re all looking forward to a good showing in McCook next week,” said Case.
