MCC softball series with Lamar pushed back to Monday start

This weekend’s home softball series between McCook Community College and Lamar has been pushed back two days because of high winds expected Saturday and Sunday.

The four-game series will start Monday with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. and continue Tuesday with the doubleheader to start at 11 a.m. at the Jaycees Sports Complex.

MCC is 25-7 overall, 7-5 in Region IX and fourth place in the standings behind Trinidad State, 12-2, Northeastern Junior College 8-4, and Otero, 11-7. Lamar is fifth in the standings at 5-11 and 12-16 overall.

The Lady Indians will continue the homestand Wednesday when they start the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference schedule with two games against Central Community College. Wednesday’s doubleheader starts at 2 p.m. The Raiders are 14-9 on the season and 0-2 in the NCCAC, having lost two games to Southeast Community College.
