Two members of the Nebraska volleyball team have received Academic All-District honors, selected by College Sports Communicators.

Olivia Mauch and Bergen Reilly were selected to the Academic All-District Team. Reilly was named an Academic All-America finalist and is now eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on Jan. 13.

The CSC Academic All-District teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically with a 3.50 cumulative GPA or better. Requirements to earn Academic All-District for volleyball student-athletes also include competing in 90 percent of the team's matches or starting in at least 66 percent of the matches.

Reilly was a first-team Academic All-American last year and is now a two-time Academic All-District honoree. She carries a 3.83 GPA majoring in business and law. Reilly is a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, two-time Academic All-Big Ten, five-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll and three-time Tom Osborne Citizenship Team member. This season she was the Big Ten Player of the Year, Big Ten Setter of the Year, AVCA Region Player of the Year and All-Big Ten First Team.

Mauch was an Academic All-District honoree for the first time. Mauch holds a 3.68 GPA majoring in advertising and public relations. The sophomore from Bennington is a three-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll selection, a Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award winner and two-time Tom Osborne Citizenship Team member.

The two were among nine Huskers who earned Academic All-Big Ten honors last week. The others were Rebekah Allick (management), Maisie Boesiger (advertising and public relations), Laney Choboy (sports media and communication), Andi Jackson (communication studies), Taylor Landfair (graphic design), Harper Murray (advertising and public relations) and Skyler Pierce (graphic design).
