Main Budget Bill Advances at the Legislature

Nebraska Legislative News

The main budget bill advanced at the Nebraska Legislature.  After two previous failures, senators came together to advance an amended LB 1071. Appropriations Chair Robert Clements removed gap funding for private school scholarships and the continuation of expanded child care subsidies, two issues that stalled the bill. The measure advanced to final reading on a 34-7 vote.
