Huskers Fall to No. 3 Tennessee, 4-1

The No. 11 Nebraska softball team logged only one hit and lost to the No. 3 Tennessee Volunteers, 4-1, on Friday afternoon in Clearwater, Fla.
 
Samantha Bland was responsible for the Huskers’ (4-4) lone hit, a single in the third inning that advanced Hannah Coor, who would eventually score on a Jesse Farrell sacrifice fly to account for NU’s one run.
 
Jordy Frahm (1-3) took the loss in the circle, as she allowed four runs and six hits in 4.2 innings. Frahm also struck out four batters. Erin Nuwer (3-0) claimed the win for Tennessee and Karlyn Pickens grabbed a save.
 
The Vols scored one in the fourth inning and three in the fifth to close out the victory. 
 
NU will continue tournament play tomorrow, Feb. 14 against UCF at 12:30 p.m. (CT) in Clearwater, Fla. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard across the Huskers Radio Network.
