Hastings College announces Together Tuesday giving day for Oct. 6

(Hastings, Nebraska) – Hastings College will host its annual Together Tuesday giving day on Oct. 6, inviting alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends to rally together and ensure today’s students find their place and thrive at the College.

The single-day event gives donors the opportunity to champion what they love most about Hastings College, with options to support more than 50 distinct areas — ranging from academic departments and student programs to athletic teams. 

Donors can also help unlock more than $250,000 in special challenge gifts throughout the day to maximize the impact of their contributions and make this the largest giving day of the year for the College.

This year’s event spotlights four featured funds, including three named initiatives honoring legacy faculty mentors — known as the HC Legends — as well as the Hastings College Annual Fund.

The three legends featured funds honor faculty who built a legacy of small-scale, face-to-face mentorship that helped propel generations of student careers:
-The Darrel Lloyd Fund for Distinguished Faculty in Humanities
-The Gil Adrian and Wendell Showalter Biological Sciences Professorship
-The Phil Dudley First Year Experience Endowed Fund
-The fourth featured fund, the Hastings College Annual Fund, provides immediate, flexible support across every corner of campus, impacting student scholarships, academic programming, student life, athletics and campus facility upgrades.

"Together Tuesday is our day to ensure the next generation of students has the same opportunities to learn, grow and thrive here," said Hauli Sabatka, a 1996 Hastings College graduate and executive director of the Hastings College Foundation. "When we come together, we remember how deeply this place matters — in every classroom, friendship and tradition. Those moments were part of building something greater. By giving on Together Tuesday, our community honors those memories and helps ensure our legacy continues to grow stronger for generations to come."

For those in the Hastings area who would like to drop off a donation, the Barrett Alumni Center (1001 N. 6th Avenue) will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with refreshments and Hastings College swag available for those who stop by.
