Firearm Was Discharged in Family Dispute in Frontier County
On January 3, 2025, at around 1250 A.M. the Frontier County Sheriff's Office was advised of a disturbance on Hwy 83 where a firearm was discharged. Frontier County Deputies responded along with the Nebraska State Patrol.
Upon investigation, it was determined that Kenya Wheat had discharged a firearm during a dispute with a family member. The situation was brought to a peaceful resolution and no injuries were reported.
Kenya Wheat was taken into custody and charged with Attempted First-Degree Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Use of a Firearm to commit a felony. Wheat was transported to the Lincoln County Jail. Wheat is being held on a $500,000 10% bond and is scheduled for court on Jan 10, 2025.
