FarmService Agency, Nebraska Extension to Host Commodity Crop Safety Net Information Meetings Across the State

USDA

Lincoln, Neb., Oct. 19, 2026 – USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Nebraska is partnering with Nebraska Extension on a series of in-person meetings to educate producers and others on the 2026 and 2027 Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs election and enrollment process and related decisions. Meetings are scheduled for Nov. 4-6, 2026, in Bridgeport, North Platte, Kearney, Ainsworth, Norfolk, Ithaca and Beatrice (see detailed meeting schedule, times and locations below).

Producers can make ARC/PLC elections and enroll with FSA for the 2026 crop year from now through Dec. 11, 2026, and for the 2027 crop year from Nov. 2, 2026, through March 15, 2027. ARC and PLC are key USDA safety-net programs that help producers weather fluctuations in either revenue or price for certain crops. These programs were extended to the 2031 production season through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act.

Meetings will include a presentation by FSA staff detailing the ARC and PLC programs and will highlight ARC and PLC program changes due to the Working Families Tax Cuts Act and provide examples of payment scenarios. Representatives of the Center for Agricultural Profitability (CAP) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will provide ARC and PLC program analysis and point producers to existing decision-making tools.

These meetings are free to attend but registration is requested. To register, call the local Extension office associated with the meeting location listed below or complete the form at cap.unl.edu/farmprograms/#register.
