Nebraska vs. Indiana

• Nebraska and Indiana have met 36 times on the diamond, with the Huskers holding a 20-15-1 lead over the Hoosiers in the all-time series.

• The two teams last met in the 2024 Big Ten Tournament, where the Huskers picked up wins of 4-2 and 10-4 over the Hoosiers to advance to the Big Ten championship game.

• Nebraska won two of three games against Indiana in their last series in Lincoln in 2024, where the Hoosiers won the series opener in 10 innings before the Big Red took games two and three to claim the series.

In the Polls

• Nebraska appeared at No. 24 in the D1Baseball rankings and No. 22 in Perfect Game's Top 25 after going 4-1 last week at Wichita State and Michigan.

• The No. 24 ranking is the program's first top-25 appearance since spending the first two weeks of the 2025 campaign in the polls, where the Huskers debuted at No. 24 in the preseason and rose to No. 23 in week two.

• Nebraska is one of four Big Ten teams to appear in the rankings this week, with UCLA (No. 1), USC (No. 12) and Oregon (No. 20) also landing spots in D1Baseball's Top 25 poll.

Home Sweet Home at Haymarket Park

• Nebraska is in its 25th season playing at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park this year and hasn't had a losing season at home in any of the last 24 seasons.

• Following the series sweep of Maine earlier this month, the Huskers are 449-183-1 in 632 all-time games at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park.

A Look at the Weekend Rotation

• Ty Horn takes the mound on Friday's series opener and is 0-1 on the season with a 3.26 ERA in 30.1 innings this season with 32 strikeouts across six starts.

• Redshirt sophomore Carson Jasa gets the nod on Saturday and is 4-1 with a 3.99 ERA and 45 punchouts in 29.1 innings of work.

• Cooper Katskee enters the weekend rotation for the first time this season and is scheduled to start Sunday's series finale. The right-hander is 3-0 with a 2.10 ERA with 34 strikeouts and an opposing batting average of .165 in 25.2 innings this season.

Second-Best Start in Last 18 Seasons

• With a 19-6 start, Nebraska has reached at least 19 wins in the first 25 games for the eighth time since 2000.

• The 19 wins in the first 25 games are tied for the sixth-most this century, trailing the 20 victories in 2004, 2006 and 2024, 21 wins in 2008 and the Big Red's 22-3 start in the 2005 campaign.

All Three Facets

• Nebraska is one of five teams nationally to be ranked in the top 40 in all three facets of the game, joining Mississippi State, Oregon, South Florida and West Virginia.

• The Huskers are ranked 26th in batting average (.315), 39th in earned run average (4.21) and 22nd in fielding percentage (.982).

Carey Ties All-Time Doubles Record

• With 56 career doubles in four seasons at Nebraska, Dylan Carey is tied with Will Bolt as the program's all-time leader in career doubles. 

•The Castle Rock, Colo., native began the season tied for fifth all-time in program history and is third among DI active career leaders.

Notables on the 2026 Campaign

• With wins against No. 7 Auburn and No. 16 Florida State this season, the Big Red are 8-5 against ranked opponents in the last two seasons.

• The Huskers have recorded three walk-off victories this season. Going back to the final three weeks of the regular season in 2025, the Big Red have totaled seven wins in walk-off fashion.

• Nebraska has run-ruled their opponent four times and has scored 10-plus runs seven times through 25 games this season.

• The NU pitching staff has recorded 14 strikeouts in four of the first 25 games this season, after totaling just six such performances combined in 2024 and 2025.

• With Mac Moyer and Dylan Carey leading the Big Red with 40 hits each, the Huskers are one of five teams nationally with two players with at least 40 hits on the season.

• Joshua Overbeek has reached base safely in 25 consecutive games going back to last season, while Mac Moyer has reached base safely in all 24 games he has appeared in this season.

• Dylan Carey ranks among the top 10 of DI's active career leaders in four categories, including second in at-bats (769), third in doubles (56), fifth in games played (200) and ninth in hits (221).

• Dylan Carey was named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch list, while Ty Horn and Gavin Blachowicz landed on the Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List.

• The Big Red is 9-0 in home games this season, recording their best home start since opening the home slate with an 11-0 record in 2015.

Worthley Heating Up at the Plate

• Freshman Jeter Worthley has seen his offensive production begin to take shape once Big Ten play began.

• After just four hits in Nebraska's first 12 games, Worthley is 18-of-44 at the plate (.409) with three doubles, five RBI and 15 runs scored in NU's last 13 games.

Carey's RBI Production Through 25 Games

• Dylan Carey has been the leader of the NU offense this season, hitting .381 at the plate with nine doubles, two triples, six home runs, 32 RBI and 21 runs scored.

• The senior leads the Big Red with 14 multi-hit performances and eight multi-RBI contests this season.

• Since 2005, Carey is one of six Huskers to drive in 30-plus runs in Nebraska's first 25 games, joining Josh Caron (2024), Brice Matthews (2023), Max Anderson (2023), Adam Bailey (2009, 2010) and Brandon Fusilier (2005).

Jasa's Strong Showing in Last Three Starts

• Redshirt sophomore Carson Jasa pitched six shutout innings with eight strikeouts at Michigan last Saturday to record his second consecutive quality start of the season.

• Across his last three starts, Jasa is 3-0 with a 1.53 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 17.2 innings while limiting opponents to a .206 batting average.

Timely Two-Out Hitting for the Huskers

• The Husker offense has found success at the plate with two outs this season,

• Nebraska is batting .293 (84-for-287) and has recorded 55 of its 166 RBI with two outs.

• 14 Huskers have recorded a two-out hit through the first 25 games, including six Huskers with at least six hits.

Lucky Number Six in the Bolt Era

• Nebraska is 145-29 under head coach Will Bolt when scoring at least six runs.

• The Husker offense has scored six-plus runs in 16 of the 19 victories this season after reaching the six-run mark 32 times last season, compiling a 25-7 record.

• Nebraska scored six-plus runs in 34 contests (28-6) in 2024 after tallying at least six runs 33 times (26-7) in 2023, 23 times (19-4) in 2022, 28 times (26-2) in 2021 and seven times (5-2) in 2020.

Going the Extra Mile

• The Huskers have recorded at least four extra-base hits in 123 games under head coach Will Bolt, posting a 98-24-1 mark in those games since 2020.

• Additionally, the Big Red are 64-9-1 when the Husker offense tallies five-plus extra-base hits under Bolt.

Get a Lead for the Bullpen

• During Will Bolt's tenure at Nebraska, the Huskers are 154-19-1 since the start of the 2020 season when they lead after the sixth inning.

• The Big Red are 150-17 when leading after seven innings and hold a 148-11 mark when leading after the eighth inning since 2020.

Big Innings Propel NU Offense in the Bolt Era

• During Will Bolt's tenure at Nebraska, the Huskers have scored three-plus runs in an inning in 179 games and hold a 143-35-1 record in those contests.

• The Huskers are 68-15 in the last three seasons when the NU offense has generated the big inning (3+ runs) in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
