Blachowicz, Horn Named to Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List
Sophomore Gavin Blachowicz and junior Ty Horn were named to the 2026 Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List, the College Baseball Foundation announced Wednesday afternoon. The award is presented annually to the nation’s top pitcher in college baseball.
Blachowicz is 2-1 this season with a 2.41 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 18.2 innings across four starts. The Olathe, Kan., native is coming off a complete-game victory against Michigan State on Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out a career-high 11 batters in the Huskers’ 12-2 run-rule win in seven innings.
Horn has made four starts this season as NU’s ace, posting a 3.10 ERA with 18 punchouts in 20.1 innings. The right-hander turned in a season-high seven innings in Nebraska’s win against Michigan State last Friday, surrendering one run on five hits with two strikeouts.
