Nebraska State Patrol High Speed Pursuit

MAY 29, 2024 (NORTH PLATTE, NEB.)  — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested two people following a pursuit in Lincoln County over the weekend.

Saturday, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a trooper performed a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Suburban for speeding on Interstate 80 near North Platte, at mile marker 172. During the traffic stop, the driver accelerated and fled eastbound. The trooper initiated a pursuit.

During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle reached speeds above 110 miles per hour and passed other vehicles on the shoulder. The driver was apprehended within minutes.

A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 16 pounds of marijuana, 40 psilocybin mushroom products, and over 1 pound of an unknown white powder. The driver, Meshach Williams, 29, of Troy, Michigan, and passenger, Marco Nickens, 29, of Detroit, Michigan, were arrested for possession of controlled substances and possession with intent to deliver. Williams was also arrested for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, driving with a revoked license, and traffic violations. Both were lodged in Lincoln County Jail.
