NE Veterans Cemetery Ground Breaking To Be Held In GI Friday

(Grand Island, NE) - On Friday, November 10th a groundbreaking ceremony will be held starting at 11:00 am in Grand Island for the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Grand Island. The new layout will be to the east and north of the existing cemetery off Webb Road and Capital Avenue. At this time when construction will start is to be announced but once completed the new area will consist of a committal shelter, memorial walk, and memorial wall, along with an avenue of flags. There will also be an addition of an administration and maintenance building. 

On Monday, November 6th organizers for the event, Gary Quandt and Don Shuda stopped by the KRGI radio studios in Grand Island to talk about the planned groundbreaking and project as a whole. Listen to the interview below.
