Curtis, NE- Community Hospital Health Foundation granted more than $8,700 in funds to purchase Curtis Medical Center a procedure chair this fall.

The new procedure chair allows for a variety of procedure positions, lowers close to the floor to accommodate patient mobility needs and is more compact allowing for additional space in the procedure area, according to Mareesa Hasenauer, NP-C, Nurse Practitioner at Curtis Medical Center. The Human Form 630 Procedure Table, a power procedure chair, was installed this fall.

Hasenauer said the former procedure chair was old, uncomfortable, and limited the procedures that could be performed, due to its inability to accommodate various positions. It also could not be lowered enough to get patients into the chair, she said.

“The new chair is wonderful,” she said. “We’ve used it several times. We are better able to position patients for procedures and it is much more comfortable for them. Patients have complimented how nice it looks and how quiet it is when moving to a position. We are very happy to have this improvement in patient care.”
