Early Lead For Lexington Seals Fate For McCook MNB Seniors

McCook MNB Seniors watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-4 loss to Lexington on Tuesday. Lexington scored on a single by Isaac Scharf in the first inning, a stolen base by Jackson Konrad in the first inning, a single by Alex Werner in the first inning, a error in the second inning, and a single by Conlan Kjar in the second inning. The McCook MNB Seniors struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Lexington, giving up ten runs.
In the first inning, Lexington got their offense started. Lexington scored one run when Scharf singled. McCook MNB Seniors scored three runs in the fifth inning. McCook MNB Seniors offense in the inning came from a single by Carter Larson and an error on a ball put in play by Coleton Lentz. Konrad was the winning pitcher for Lexington. Konrad surrendered four runs on three hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Drew Hanson threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Travis Neben took the loss for McCook MNB Seniors. Neben allowed seven hits and ten runs over four innings, striking out five. Quentin Terry led McCook MNB Seniors with two hits in four at bats. Greysen Strauss went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Lexington in hits. Lexington stole ten bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Scharf led the way with three.
